Boost your immune system and fight off flu and gastro bugs with anti-parasitic herbs from your garden and pantry. Great for soothing sore throats and relieving digestive discomfort.
Add the following herbs to a large saucepan of water:
2 tsp fresh ginger root, finely diced
2 clove fresh garlic, peeled and finely diced
1 tsp peppermint leaves (fresh or dried)
1 tsp thyme leaves (fresh or dried)
1 tsp cinnamon (powder or bark)
1 tsp aniseed
1 tsp cloves
1 pinch cayenne pepper
Simmer for 15 minutes and remove from heat. Add the juice from 1 lemon & 1 Tbsp of Manuka honey if desired. Strain the liquid and drink 2-3 cups per day until the infection has cleared. This is also a fantastic beverage for preventing illness. Some people feel worse while parasites are killed off, known as the “die-off effect” so be sure to rest, drink plenty of pure water and avoid processed foods.
You may also benefit from taking a high quality Vitamin C and Zinc supplement and consuming fermented foods such as kombucha and sauerkraut to strengthen the immune system and promote healthy gut flora.
